How to: Longitude & Latitude
Study the map. The measurements for latitude and longitude usually appear as small numbers along thin vertical and horizontal lines.
- Latitude (on a north-south oriented map with north facing upwards) will be written on lines running horizontally across the map.
- Longitude will be written on lines running vertically across the map.
- Match up the line on the map to the lines on your paper. They will intersect the land at the same points.
- Pay attention to the degree interval that the instructions give you.
